I hear you on light. That one window over the tub is pretty big at 4x5. We have been thinking about adding additional windows high on the walls on either side as well.

The garage. You have to walk outside to the patio, and then in another door to get in the house?
Is it too late to make a suggestion?

Take it or leave it, I suggest moving the "slop sink" closer to the garage, and make the house accesible through the garage. And the bathroom not face the kitchen.

So we had the surveyor come and make sure the garage is in the right spot, and guess what IT IS. Now they are just being a pain about the average height. We asked them what they needed for that and they said that they needed a certified engineer to sign off on the drawings with the calculations. Good thing that both of my parents are certified engineers.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that won't work. #1 reason being that there has to be three steps down into the garage. Each step has to be 10" deep. So you effectively lose 3ft out of the side of the garage. I want the shower/toilet/utility/mudroom directly accesible from the yard/porch (think future pool). It is not near as important to have it directly accesible from the garage. The extra door to the garage from the house doesn't bother me.

Keep it coming. Someone might come up with a suggestion I haven't thought of yet.
