Prostar vs Sportstar

I bought a boat advertised as a Prostar 205 (1994) but it has a bucket seat on the passenger side. Does that make it a Sportstar? What are the differences?

I preferred the bucket passenger seat so my wife can face forward when we are just cruising. (She really wanted to keep the I/O bow rider).

Welcome!

No, it is not a Sportstar. It is a Pro Sport 205. It is the same hull, but about 100 lbs heavier. The forward facing seat and the lack of enclosed storage on the passenger side are the only differences. Because of the lack of fixed rear facing seat, it was not AWSA approved (at least that's how the 93 brochure made it sound; I'm sure it could've past the approval process with no troubles assuming that wasn't some sort of requirement; probably wasn't submitted for approval).

Got any pictures?

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Sportstars were only available 98-00, they were a cheaper version of the 95-97 Prostar's. Jamie

Doug is correct. Furthermore, I believe the Pro Sport was only available in 92 and 93.

Just checked the manuals on MC.com. Pro Sport looks to have been available through the 95 model year.

Who Harold? No I think he's taking a nap. I'm D-O-U-G! And I had to look that up, so it doesn't count.

Somehow, I think that'll be contorted into "TT Master Poobah," much to my dismay.
