1986 ProStar 190 Questions
Hey Guys,
I just joined the forum today and am in the market to purchase a MasterCraft very soon. I am interested in a vintage model and have found a 1986 ProStar 190 with the 454c.i. engine. The price is $8,995 and there are 772 hours on the engine. Do you think this sounds like a decent prices and ANY information you have on these boats, especially that engine option would be greatly appreciated. I am very new to the market! Thanks for all you advice and opinions!

1986 with a 454 should be a great boat. Plenty O'power.
 Gonna suck the gas but hey you have to pay to play. Not a lot of the '86 out there with the big blocks. The 86 rides on the same hull as the '87 - '90 although it does have a different deck. '86 was kind of a unique transition year between the '85 and prior and the '87 and later boats. As for price, maybe a little high but if it is in really nice shape maybe not. I would probably prefer to pay more along the lines of $7-8k though.Oh and welcome!

Price seems high for an 86.I doubt that the 454 weight will make a difference for the wake from a boat with the 351.
But your wallet will definetely feel lighter after fueling that gas hog all summer. Good luck! Just a couples k more and that would put you up to the 91-94 era boats...Better boats IMO.

I bought an 86 2 years ago for 8k. It had been repainted and given new upholstery throughout. The engine (351) had 400 hours. We like the boat.
