Barefooting with a V-Drive

I am looking to purchase a new mastercraft and I am looking for a little feedback from some footers out there. I currently own a '93 205 and it has been a great boat. I generally spend most of my day wakeboarding, but when the water permits I love to get out and do a little barefooting. I practice a lot off the boom and short line, but I also like to get behind the boat and do some runs as well. In terms of skiing, I really don't do too much of it. Everyone on the lake knows me as the guy that can barefoot, but looks like a beginner on a slalom ski.

Anyways, I am looking for some advise on the new v-drive boats. I really like the x-2 because of the open space and the versatility of the boat. It would be great for the afternoons with all the friends and on the wakeboards. However, I am afraid that it is going to put a damper on the barefooting. I have seen that they are making tower booms now, but I have not had a chance to get on one. Just looking for some advise if anyone has run into the same situation.

I have an 06 X2 with a wake plate and it foots great. It is a sizeable wake with the plate up but with it down no problem at all. A tower boom will not fit on the 07 tower but I assume MR. Seipel will be working on that soon if not already. Surfs and wake boards awesome and tons of room.

Welcome fresh36!

No personal experience, but I would think the X2 with the LY6 engine would be a great barefoot & wakeboard boat! Eric can probably give you more info like top speed, wake plate, etc.

Don't be a boom baby, go long line!

how is the throttle set up on those Barefoot 200's?

typical outboard rig with tilt/trim in the handle?
