x-star prop.......

What's the best prop for running with stock ballast on the '05 x-star with the MCX engine? What's the RPM/top speed?

DO you prefer OJ or ACME?

Thanks, Jim that's what I thought.

Do you know what top speed would be of both props? (13.7X17 vs. 14X14.25)

You may want to hold on to your hats and seats for what I'm about to say...but I would go with ACME.

My testing with my Stalker gun and software has time and again shown them better everytime with off the self props. Neither side had any idea I was testing the props.

WOW...i put the 14X14.25 on my 05 mcx xstar last year and it made a tremendous difference with hole shot and holding speed and allowing me to weight the boat and still get up to boarding speed. i spoke several times with eric johnson at OJ and went with them simply because they supply MC all of their props.

MYMC, please tell us in detail what is better and how much better the acme is. I am interested in learning even though i am satisfied with my prop. thanks

Used a 14.25 x 14 ACME much quicker but about 30' 0-30mph on 2007 MCX X-Star. I forget the cup # .090 I think I have it in my other computer...prop was 3 mph faster on top.

OJ make good stuff but the ACME stuff was better all the way around (get it...ha ha)

I am wanting to find also an improvement to the hole shot of my 05 X Star MCX combo and have heard from several people that the OJ XMP Edge is great. My last MC prostar 190 I upgraded with an ACME prop which was nice, so I am very interested in hearing all the details about your findings with the Acme vs. OJ MYMC. You probably end up selling me one if you stock them

The 14.25x14 ACME ran best on the 2007 X-Star I tested hands down. It gets to speed 30 ft quicker 0-30 mph than the 14x14.25 OJ...cup can be varied but best overall results seemed to be with the .080 cup.

Yes we stock them.
