Former UC Basketball Player Killed...

Jonathon Lavance Carson, 29, was identified Wednesday morning as the man gunned down Tuesday night after reportedly forcing his way into a Darnell Drive home in a robbery attempt.

The residents of the home contacted the Clark County Sheriff's Office about 10:30 p.m. to report two armed men forced their way into the home.

Jon Carson, was shot and killed Tuesday night after he apparently broke into a Lawrenceville home.
Dow Huffman is listed in critical condition after he was shot in an apparent home invastion.

One of the suspects, Dow Robert Huffman, 23, of West Liberty, fought with Colin Jenkins, 19, while Megan Stapleton, 19, ran for a weapon kept in the home, Sheriff Gene Kelly said.

Huffman reportedly went toward Stapleton, who fired multiple shots at him, Kelly said.

She then fired multiple shots a Carson, who was scuffling with Jenkins, Kelly said.

Carson stumbled to the outside front porch, where he was pronounced dead when medical personnel arrived.
