Riva jumping off PS197

My dog Riva, 17-month lab, is fine when the skier is up but once the skier is down, she freaks out and must immediately attempt to rescue the skier in the water!

That's what you get for naming her after a PWC racing company! PWCs are the chase boats for tournaments if you didn't know.

Just kidding. Beautiful dog. Can't wait for mine to jump off the dock and boat (on command, of course). He is a great swimmer already but hasn't started jumping yet.

Long before it was the name of a pwc aftermarket company, riva was a builder of some of the most beautiful and well appointed boats on the planet. George clooney and Brad Pitt both own one.

So that is an excellent name for a water dog! And a great mid air action shot too!

Riva the dog is named after the ski run in Vail which is named after the ridge in Italy retaken by the 10th Mtn. Division in WW2. Following the war several 10th Mtn. veterans started ski areas, Vail being one. I do need to train her better regarding only jumping on command. How do you do that?

I agree great name and a great action shot. I was kidding about the PWCs because she's jumping in after the skiers when they go down......

As far as training you'll have to have someone on her when you have a skier. When they go down they'll hold her and tell her "no" or "wait" or something else to calm her and not let her jump. When the time comes and you want her to go she can only go with permission, not before.

Walker, he showed up at the in-laws 4 years ago on Christmas eve, that's where they live. Put ads up and called radio stations and nothing, of course my wife fell in love. 9 months later my wife is unloading groceries up there and a van pulls up, I was back in the cities. A Native American gentleman says that's my dog, I have his brother to prove it. There aren't two dogs that look like a cross between German Shepard and Cairn Terrier, sure enough he goes home brings his wife and dog back, my wife said there was no doubt it was their dog, My wife said to them will you take $100 for him, they took the check and 4 years later he's still howling!!
