Is Carver going to school soon?
We turn Carver in for advanced training Feb 2013. Seems like yesterday we picked him up (last October). Our 1st pup Ansel was placed as a Service Dog with a gentleman that has a spinal cord injury. It was great to see him graduate. Made all the hard work worth it!

This is the new pup - Wyatt. He's not too sure about the water yet, but he will swim by himself.

Expected to be about 80 lbs when full grown

Luke,

Wyatt looks like a boxer?

Assuming he is, they are hit-and-miss with swimming. Boxers, as a breed, are not known as strong swimmers and most of them sink due to being very lean and muscular. Our boxer, Hunter, is about 3 years old and 55-60 pounds. He loves being on the boat. However, he does not care for swimming. He likes to be in the water, but only up to his shoulders. We got him a nice lifejacket from ruffwear.com and we will throw him in occasionally. He slaps the water so hard with his front paws. Too, you don't want to be anywhere near him as he will try and climb on your head and he scratches the heck out of you. Aside from the water, he is a great dog. Boxers are fantastic with kids and very loyal to their family.

Correct - he is a 3 month old boxer (at 32 lbs already). He can swim when he wants to but I only feel comfortable shore swimming with him that way I can catch him when his tail end starts to sink. He does love the boat already - but i will need to get a life jacket for him - never heard of ruffwear, will need to check it out.

He loves everyone and everyone loves him. Boxers are great dogs

Yes, Hunter does that tail-sink-thing too. He kind of bounces in the water when it is slightly over his head with his back paws. It is pretty funny.

Here is the link for ruffwear. They make some awesome stuff.

(yeah thats right he rocks the ****in sweater boom!!!!)

After having Harley our 9 year old Standard Pug it will be hard to get another breed. I have never had such a fun dog in such a small package, which for the last decade has been exactly what we needed. He should be with us another 5 years give or take *currently no health issues what so ever* and we absolutely have loved every minute so far. GREAT with kids, smart, and extremely loyal with me. If I go he goes end of story, and that means anywhere. Very cool breed and trust me I had my doubts until I saw him do things a dog his size shouldnt really do. Then with my daughter I was again taken back at how much I love my little guy.\

We have tossed around getting a boxer another breed I really like alot, but after Harley choosing another breed will be very hard.
