MasterCraft Introduces New 2006 Models; Awards Its Top Dealers

Orlando, FL --- MasterCraft kicked off 2005 by introducing two new-for-2006 models and recognizing its single best dealer with its annual “President’s Award” last week in Orlando, Florida.

For three days, over 700 principals and salespeople from 130 dealerships worldwide -- along with a host of pro athletes and the marine media -- were introduced to MasterCraft’s newest flagship boats, the all-new MariStar 230 and X-30. In addition to testing the early models, dealers attended sales training seminars to prepare them for the upcoming boat show season, and recognized their peers at MasterCraft’s annual “MC Awards” banquet.

On the event’s opening night, MasterCraft president and CEO, John Dorton, thanked the group for its continued support, and shared his vision for the coming years. He also handed out the company’s most prestigious award to longtime MasterCraft partner Mark Lawhead of Portland Ski Boat Center. “The President’s Award is reserved for the dealer which most exemplifies the best of our business. Nothing says MasterCraft better than Portland Ski Boat Center,” commented Dorton.
Other highlights included Edmonton, Alberta’s Martin Equipment which walked away with Rookie of the Year honors by performing strongly in its first full year as a MasterCraft dealer. “Martin Equipment is the epitome of what the new breed of MasterCraft dealers will like in the future,” said Scott Crutchfield, VP of worldwide sales.

MasterCraft of Charlotte received the Community Service Award and accepted a $1,000 check for a charity of its choice. “We believe an essential part of our business is taking the time to focus on others,” said Rob May, MasterCraft’s director of marketing. “MasterCraft of Charlotte embodies this vital principal.”

In addition to these honors, MasterCraft also presented several regional awards including top servicing dealer, top marketing dealer and salesman of the year. In addition to the opening night festivities, dealers were treated to first-looks at the company’s new line of Saltwater Series boats.
