Older PS190 Aftermarket Parts

I'm looking for someplace that sells aftermarket parts for older PS190's. Nothing specific, but parts in general. I can't seem to find reproduced older parts for restoration work like you would for a classic car. I have a '91, and there's just a lot of smaller things that I would like to replace if possible.

The market for used boat parts is a tough one. It is best to contact a dealer. Sometimes you can find things like guages on e-bay.

If you can be a little more specific, it might be easier for people to offer input on where to track it down. As George says, there's no supercenter for all of the parts.

If it's OEM Upholstery, then the dealer will probably be able to order it for a prostar. If it's engine related, www.skidim.com or overtons.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

The only things I am looking for right now are the cup holder assembly in the engine cover and the hinges on the engine cover, the pins are missing in mine. I will check with the dealer and see what they can do, but I 'm sure I'll find other things as I get more and more in restoring it. I'm trying to get some seats re-upholstered, but I was thinking of just going to a local vinyl shop for that.

The things you've mentioned so far sounds like dealer or nothing to me.

As for reupholstering, you can certainly go to a local shop, especially if you're redoing the whole interior. I went local on my driver's seat base because (a) I didn't know I could get it from MC at the time, and (b) someone's always sitting on it so you never notice that it doesn't look/feel exactly like the OEM vinyl. The drawbacks are (1) some parts of the vinyl have the MC logo stamped in them and a local shop won't be able to reproduce it, and (2) the vinyl from a local shop will not be indistinguishible in a side-by-side comparison with the stuff from MC.

All that said, if I was facing a total refurb on the interior, I'd probably save the money and go local. That not being the case, I'm currently doing it a little bit at a time.

What does Mastercraft charge on average for re-upholstering? I was basically looking at the driver seat bottom, the passenger side bottom, and the entire back seat. The back seat is going to be the pricey one I'm sure, and I would like to preserve the Mastercaft embroidery unless the dealer wants something outrageous.

This is not "one size fits all." You need to call your dealer and have your hull ID number handy (including those last two letters). This enables them to get the colors right. It takes about 4--6 weeks to get them once they're ordered. You can install them yourself though as they are presewn. Just pull your old skins and staple the new ones on. Time consuming to get it right, but nothing to it.

Posted by Jorski on the old forum. Prices tend to vary, I'm told, from dealer to dealer.
