X-45 ???
I am getting close to make a decision to purchase an X-45. This is a 2005 boat with under 20 hours that comes with the complete factory warranty. The boat is about 62k/67k out the door. The one thing that bothers me is that this boat does not have Perfect Pass. For that kind of money you would expect Perfect Pass. The boat is equiped with the L9 6.0 engine. I know that you guys are probably all biast toward Mastercraft but can anyone give me some insight as to their experience with this boat? Can I pull an invert arial with this boat?

This is a big boat, you won't have an issues w/ wake size for sure!
Is the boat being sold as new (demo) or used?

It is
This boat is being sold as used. But dealer is getting factory warranty from the date of MY purchase.
Guy bought the L9 and did not like it where he lived (High Elevation , Utah) So mastercraft took it back and he bought the L18. They are now passing on incentives and full warranty... but no Perfect Pass. |

The LQ9 is drive by wire, and the 2006 comes with a MC version of speed/RPM control. Unless you are very precise, try the standard offering before laying out the bucks for PP install.

Re: perfect pass, the MC digital speed control is great. I hear perfect pass is much better, but I wonder how that can be, as DSC keeps my X-1 dead on speed unless the water is pretty rough, in which case it will move around by about 1 mph. If you're a really serious boarder, you might need perfect pass, but I really can't see why a recreational boarder, even a really good one would NEED it. Not saying it's not great, just not sure why you need it if you have DSC. Also, I thought Perfect Pass was something you could add later, isn't it? |

MC Cruise works fine on my 06 x45. Only use it in speed mode, not rpm mode. For wakeboarding and surfing my personal opinion is that there is no reason for you to spend the extra bucks to upgrade to PP.
to adjust speed you press the +/- button. Each time you press it the speed changes by 0.2 mph. Pressing and holding the + or - button changes speed in 1 mph increments. |
