Shower Install

Thought I would post a few pictures of my shower install. It was an easy project that took me about 3.5 hours to do.

You have to find a place to mount the pressure pump. Heatercraft reccomends not putting it in the bilge so I mounted it in the rear corner of the boat in an area that is accessable from the side rails. In order to get it up and out of the way and hidden I removed the corner section of my rear seat backrest so I could drill the four holes needed and use machine screws and nuts to mount the pump. The four stainless screws are the mounting screws for the pmp.

Here I mounted the shower temperature control under the gunnel and then connected the hot and cold lines as well as the line to the pump and the the shower line from the pump. In this location the controls are not visable unless you look up under the gunnel.

Now route the hot and cold lines into the bilge and engine compartment. As you can see the lines needed to be extended by using a brass barb fitting, hose clamps and some additional 3/8" hose. I have also reinstalled the corner seat back cushion.

Now you make the connections for the hot and cold water.

Here is the connections for the hot water. Just remove the engine drain petcock on the passenger side and install the provided barb fitting. Attach the hose and tighten the hose clamp.

And here is the cold water conection. Cut the water line between the impeller pump and the thermostat and install the provided T fitting and hose end fitting. Install the hose and tighten the clamp.

The only thing left to do is to run the power wires from the pump to the dash. I just used the glassed in PVC under the gunnel and dash to keep the wires out of the way. Under the dash Mastercraft has the power and ground wiress clearly marked and pre-installed butt connectors for the Accessory 2 switch. Cut the wires to length and make the final connections. The shower is now powered and ready to go.

Reinstall the floor section and the rear seatback and you are ready for cool season skiing.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.
