Gel Coat Color Guide

All right gang I need some help. On the old site their was a page that had all the paint specs/number for ordering. I went to the old site and couldn't find it, nor could I find it here. Can someone help me out. I've got a few minor spots I want to fix. Thanks.

MC can tell you the color for your year and Spectrum Color should still be able to make it. I remember the thread but couldn't find it when I searched.

General Comment

I'm in the middle of my winter "fixer-uppers" and one of the things I'm trying to do is touch up some knicks, scratches etc. The chart above was very helpful. However, when I checked that website and inquired they only carry some of the pre 1990 colors by the quart if at all. In my case they had the light gray in a quart and the black not at all. The guy that is doing my glass has worked on a few MC's and says he can get a match. I'll let you know what happens. But, unless you had a major spot a quart is overkill. They do sell a patch kit that covers 5 sq/in which is ideal. Just some FYI for anyone trying to tackle this.

Brian, unless the fix is going to be in a noticeable spot, I'd suggest that you tell your glass guy to match it as closely as possible (especially if it's white). The repairs I've had done (to my boat and my father-in-law's) were all on the south side. You literally cannot make out where the patch is unless you get extremely close (like 2" from the surface). On his boat, the prop makes this range pretty much impossible.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.
