O yea boat shine is what this is about.

Ok back on topic, how do y'all get em to shine like that?? 27 coats of wax over a 15 hour buff job? Mine needs buffed and waxed an I want results like y'all's!

Depending on condition of your finish you may need to wet sand (if heavily oxidized). If lightly oxidized you should be able to cut out the finish with a liquid compound applied by rotary buffer, follow with a polish to remove swirl marks and bring out the shine then finish off with a good quality wax. Keep the buffer moving and let it do the work for you. As long as you don't camp out on the decals they will be fine. Step back and admire your new found shine.

There are many good products out there that will get you the results you're looking for. I've used Meguiars number series products for years with great results. Their Flagship Marine Wax works very well too.

Orbeamlb thanks! I've wet sanded and buffed the top half of the boat(above run rail) and it made a huge difference! I started with 1000 then went to 2000 and buffed like you said along with a wax. Just can't get mine to have that deep shine.. Maybe it won't ever happen I don't know. Should I start with a more course paper? I'm gettin new decals so they are all removed

I've used 600 on some scratches and wouldn't recommend anything more than that. Gelcoat is quite thick in comparison to paint, that said I do be careful with the sanding. With my boat I cut it out with compound a few times with the last treatment really waking the finish up. Stick with it a couple more times and you should have it come out well.

All right, I got the Porter Cable and everything recomended on this link. Pads, compound, wax ect. Boat has never looked better. Need a little help posting the picture. Wow! It is a lot of work, the first time!
