HO Molecule tube

I am in the market for a cool tube for my kids. I was at the local MC dealer and they had this new tube called the Molecule. Has anyone seen this in action or been on one. The theory behind it looks cool. But for $400+ I want to make sure it is alot of fun before I spend. Thanks

I pulled a Molecule the other day that my buddy owns - we had a big neighborhood lake party with lots of kids..therefore lots of tubing. I didn't ride it, but pulled 3-4 kids on it at a time, as well as a couple of adults at one point. I thought is was kind of dumb, and no one that rode the thing was doing much oohing and aahing...

The middle sphere at the tow point blocks the complete view of the platform and I found myself constantly trying to determine whether or not I'd lost someone. I also noted that the thing has a lot more drag than other types of tubes, and you have to work to get it outside the wake. And, the platform suspension tends to dampen wave action. If your kids are looking for an exciting ride, skip the molecule. If you're looking for a nice safe (boring) ride for, say, younger kids, it might be OK, although I highly recommend a spotter in case you lose a passenger.

The big-hit tube of the party was the the Big Mable. It has multiple tow points, and can be either a sedate or wild ride.

Another popular tube was the SpeedZone...

I could have sworn that I read somewhere the point of the molecule was to reduce drag, etc, etc.

I wonder how many of the contraptions you see in Barts, Overtons, Ski Limited, etc are actually water tested to see how fun they are. I would hope so considering that some of these catalogs are dedicating up to 8 pages to toobs.

The bad thing about boats, is when they break, they break expensive.

Perhaps you could start a toob magazine and discuss driving tips and such as well as do tube tests.

In this months Toob we break down the molecule!

It might be a big hit!!! Given the number of Toobers on our lake last weekend, there must have been 10 of them out at the same time.
