Shaft seal nut , 04 197

How difficult is it to get the engine cover and rear-center floor piece out so that I can tighten the packing nut a bit. I cannot find visible screws that hold the panel in place. Ideas?

It is very easy, and you should be able to lift the floor/motor box out as one unit.

On my '02 1`97 it is pressure fit. You can take the access cover off with the engine cover if you want to make it quick and easy. Just have a friend help, that thing is too big and heavy for one. Or remove the engine cover from the floor and give a quick tug on the floor. You will want to remove the back seat, because the cover extends to the back of the floor.

So they just squeezed it in there(Hope you like that one, Hillbilly!) ? Makes sense. Cool. Should not be so bad with two of us . No mention of yank or tug with "two of us" in the same sentence, though.
