Denver-area Boating Lakes

Have an opportunity through work to transfer to Denver. Any good lakes in the area? How long is the boating season?

I'll probably be winterizing my boat in the next week or two. Sitting in warm garage so no hurry really.

Not a lot of lakes down south of Denver but more as you head north. Ft Collins and surrounding area, I believe.

I mean no disrespect to those who live there now. I'm a Colorado native but live in southeast now. When compared to "lakes" I live near now the bodies of water near Denver would have to be classified as "ponds".....
The snow skiing is world class though

Most are man-made lakes here too. Not a lot of natural ones.....

Most in the southeast are man-made, just a lot bigger, more shoreline (less round) and tree cover holding the wind down than what I've seen in colo/utah

So what would be the closest decent boating lake? If I wanted to buy a lake front cottage where should I look? How far is Breck from Commerce City?

Waterfront places can be hard to come by. There are some, but not tons. Breck to Commerce is usually 1 1/2 hours or so. Depending on day, time and time of year, it could be much longer with the popularity/traffic of I-70.
