Replacement Mechanical Steering Systems

Has anyone replaced their steering system with a new steering system? Here's a picture of what someone is asking about? Appears that part no longer available.

support tube

Are you referring to the support tube? It looks like most of the ones available now use a clamping block instead of a threaded section. Should be easy enough to change out.

I was trying to find a replacement for mine here in Aus and sent the below picture to a marine steering company here saying it was for my Mastercraft X2 and his comment was it was a genuine Mercury part. I didn't follow up any further as I had mine repaired instead.
