X1 ski locker bag

I keep patching the ski locker bag in my '01 xstar, but it's a losing battle. Anyone have pics of their X1 bag/fittings? I want to compare it to what I have now. Would it still be available from MC or dealers? Any idea on cost?

We fill the bag every time we go out. Any issue forgoing the bag and throwing 300-350 lbs. of lead in there and leaving it?

$170 gets you a 800lb bag for the locker from Straightline. 18"x18"x65"

Put some quick release fittings on it and you can pull it for easy cleaning, cause that locker gets durrrty!

This bag works pretty well and all the ports are at the right end. . Get a bit creative with the fitting, a few 90 degrees, some 3/4" hose, and some clamps. it's fills the locker well. Short in length by 8 or so inches.

Otherwise you can contact high fly and they can make you a one off ballast be based on the old one.

I have a 2001 xstar. Had the same problem.

How did you fit an 800lb bag in the ski locker? Is the bag made of tungsten? ;0)

Assume you cant fill it all the way? I can only fit about 300lbs of water in mine!

Like you I had to replace the original bag but I did this 2 yrs ago. Wakemakers happened to have one of the VERY LAST purpose built 205v ski locker bags left.

I'd call them and do as TravisQ suggests... have one made.

The tube sac leaves a little to be desired. It's less weight than factory and due to the fact the ports are on the top when it fills it will push you're locker door open. It's annoying. A custom 10X10x80 bag fits perfectly. Fly high has the specs and you can get the 3 ports put on the end to match your current design. Anything out if an X1 will have different port locations.

A custom bag from fly high is around 350-400and that's about what your dealer would charge for s factory bag.

I wouldn't recommed putting steel or led in the locker. No matter what you do it will get water in there somehow. Also you want the weight stretching through as far forward as possible . The lead bags will slide around every time you get out of the hole. Since you're thinking of just filling it and leaving it full the tube sac should do the trick because the ports won't be in the way then.

Let me make a phone call today. I think I have a source for oem X1 kgb bags that's far less than $400. I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks for the feedback on the bags, guys. And appreciate the feedback on the lead, swatguy. It didn't sound like a very good idea, but I'm tired of dealing with a leaking bag, so thought I'd throw it out there.

Please let me know what you find, Bud.

If you just manually fill that tube sac and then cap it it will fit perfectly. It just won't wiork very well with all the hoses attached to the top.
