Speakers making weird sound when engine on...

Two of my tower speakers seem to have a whining sound when the engine is on. The other two tower speakers are fine. Doesnít happen in aux mode/engine off. Any ideas?

Are the suspect speakers on a different amp then the others? Are they fed with a different RCA input?

Ok, so concentrate on whats different about the amp driving the suspect speakers and the amp thats driving the speakers not making noise. B+ and B- and where they terminate. RCA cables, amp settings.

Sounds like a ground issue.

I’m not good at this stuff. I can replace my fuel pumps though! I might have to have my dealer look at it

Iím not good at this either. But it sounds like the amp with speakers making noise is grounded to a different location than the other amps and head unit. I think the noise comes from the alternator.

Mark that makes sense. The noise gets louder as I rev the engine. But of course I can’t hear the whining once I’m up to speed and the music is loud.

Are the speakers that are "whining" on the same channel? Sounds like a ground, if two of them are making the noise then they are probably bridged and something is obviously interfering with the current. Nothing big, just interference, easy fix. Follow the wires.
