So my wife is driving from CO to ID today.....just mentioned there is snow and slush over the 4th of July pass. So I pull up the camera, yep, snowing and slushy.

But one thing I did see, is this poor guy in the Ford, on the shoulder with his boat covered in SNOW! Wonder how his drive is going?!?

My son is moving from Virginia to Colorado next week with his fiancé. I just bought him a Kia Optima (because it’s what he wanted) but I’m wishing now that I had bought an AWD car or small SUV.

snow tires are a lot cheaper than another car or suv!)) when my mother moved from New Orleans to Evergreen, Co 18 years ago she had a Lexus SC 300. 2 inches of snow the car wouldn't move with all season tires but when she added snow tires she went almost anywhere she wanted.

I put 4 new all season tires on it this week with a slightly more aggressive tread, but I'm still a little concerned. They are traveling very light, so I may just wait until they get to CO and send him the money to put snow tires on the front, if he has a place to store the others. It's costing me more to get rid of him versus staying in VA!

4 seasons tires are crap in real winter conditions like in Colorado . Get some good quality (studded or not) REAL winter tires and he'll be good to go!

Blizzak studs.....great snow tires. Super grippy and worked awesome for our FWD Camry.

Just wear really fast outside of winter time so switch back over to all seasons in spring.
