Any wakeboarding newb can get massive air (most likely by accident) with enough boat speed and a big wake.

It's rare that anyone with beginner to intermediate wakesurf skills leaves the water and catches "air". 3" of wakesurfing air requires more skill than 2' of wakeboarding air.

haha " have you ever wake surfed, bro?"

I wake surf competitively. Don't try and make yourself feel good about how easy wake surfing really is. I wake surf 1/100th of the time i wakeboard and I'm still better at surfing that I am at wake boarding.

if we wanna talk real surfing, ill meet you in San Onofre to surf some breaks at Trestles.

The difference is that it takes more balls for the newbie to charge a big wake than to fall into a hole in the water. You can really get hurt wakeboarding. A crash from the most massive air on a surfboard could result in a stubbed toe at worst.

I still get a kick out of the Parks Bonifay line, " Its only water , just huck it"

I have to agree on the Wakeboarding falls. Only falls I ever took worse were from bare footing. Probably why I don't Wakeboard that much anymore and when I do it's just to do some soul riding. Last bad one I took was from a 180 to back side. Totally screwed the landing and dang near ripped my arm off. Between that one and the numerous crashes that involved bunt trauma to the head I'm sure I had a concussion at least a couple times.

These days it's all slalom and surfing without getting crazy enough on either to get hurt.

My dad can beat your dad up.

I dont have a boat, my parents are rich, I "work" in college I can buy a better boat than you and im in college. I wakesurf competitivly.

^^^ makes me want to sell my WakeBoards while I still can.
@ 46 I cant afford injuries that would impede ability to work...

My girls really don't like Wakeboarding much compared to Surfing..the fall are more traumatic for them.....AND ME.

Surfing is much easier on the Body and I do enjoy the close interaction the Crew on the Boat.
