WM provided many a start of the ski season buzz and launched an entire industry of new skool action sports film makers. He was also on the snow himself well into his 80’s and 90’s.

RIP, though I suspect there are unlimited virgin turns where you are at. Your energy and adrenaline live on.

Nice call-out to a great man, Covi.

Years ago while working at a western mountain restort a lady approaches me with a small girl approx. 4-5 yo. She says to me "I'd like you to take good care of her". "Teach her how to ski and to ski well". "We have high expectations for her". "This is Danielle, I'm her grandmother and her grandfather is Warren Miller".

We had a great day.

C, so you taught WM’s grand daughter to ski? Now that is legendary.

IIRC, Blizzard of Aahhs was Stump films, but they were absolutely one of the many disciples of WM along with many other next generation adrenaline film makers including TGR and dozens of others.

Plake is still ripping, and also is an incredibly strong water skier. Scot Schmidt is an owner of one of the best powder cat operations on the planet - Island Lake Lodge. Both athletes were shredding big mountain lines and back country powder on 210cm skinny skiis.

Moosehead, yea crazy it was. Plane and the guys are legends. This is my era also. All my winter action was geared around them. I laugh 210 skinny skis but you are spot on.

This is testing my damaged brain cells and long-term memory, but also seem to recall footage of Plake slalom skiing with Andy Mapple.

That is way cool!

I love this quote from WM: “If you don't do it this year, you will be one year older when you do.”

My ski buddies and I leave in a few weeks for a week in interior BC. For the first time ever, we'll be doing a day with Valhalla PowderCats. It took some arm twisting to get everyone to commit. I mean, yes you could purchase a new pair of skis for what we're spending on one single day. But, I think it's going to be a new level of fun. Why not this year?

This will be our 15th annual "guys ski trip." We accomplished our goal...we made it to a place where it's not a negotiable event with our wives. It's an annual occurrence. We had that discussion, the very first year of the trip in Park City.

Pursue life...don't procrastinate.

RIP WM.

Listening to him narrate Glen Plake was always awesome!

Don't remember some of the titles, but from the 80's it was great to watch a WM film with ski friends. Great sense of humor, the narrative was awesome.
