X23 Surf Tab Problems

I have a 2015 X-23 with 7.4l engine in it. I have been getting short problems with the trim tabs, and it causing the tab not to go where the profile wants it to go, so the wake has been very inconsistent, I can go in and clear the codes, and sometimes it gets fixed. I assumed it was water getting into the actuator, but the dealer says they can't get it to repeat. Has anyone else had this problem?

Should I just take a picture of the faults on monitor screen when they come up?

Does it happen from the first set or do you notice it more after a rider falls and you have to pick them up. In other words, do you notice it being more inconsistent after a couple of sets.

More when the rider falls if I turn it off to have better steering and then back on once they grab the rope. Started to just leave it set and it was better.

Get your dealer to look at the actuators and possibly replacing them. One of mine was doing this so they replaced it and I haven't had the issue since.

I had a similar issue with my Gen2 X25. Dealer warranty. They made an adjustment of some sort, never happened again.

You might have the dealer check it, but I will say the surf tabs are not perfect yet at adjusting back if they are moved during a set. For example - if the rider falls, I pick them up, but let’s say I bumped the boat into reverse. The tabs raise up for obvious reasons, but return to their positions once the boat is in forward again...when this happens the tabs sometimes do not return perfectly to the previous positions (regardless what the screen says) and causes the wave to change. It’s hardly noticeable to most people, but to me I see it every time, especially if I’m using a steep setting. I pretty much never do anything to move the tabs while surfing and once we change riders they just reset and off we go. It’s like this on every boat I’ve been on though, so if you are seeing a major difference then might be worth calling your dealer.

They mostly take water which makes them work intermittent at first, and competely quit later, happens more often then MC/Lenco would like (us to know). They usually get replaced within warranty.
From what I've understood, MC is looking into other systems that might work better for the future.

We had a similar issue and it was water getting into the Lenco ram, the same thing will happen if you get water in the connector of the ram. The system freaks out and you have to reset or worst case dry out the problem area.

If your boat has "Auto Launch" it is recommended to turn off the "Auto Launch" when surfing. My surf tabs were doing crazy things and after talking to the dealer this is what is recommended.
