New Alternator?

2002 X-9 w/ 320hp engine

I have been having issues with power supplies for last few months. When @ Idle and stereo running with low volume, I will get an alarm from ICM, I am 99% sure this is from my votlage meter dropping or approaching 12 volts or less. I bought a 2 farad capacitor and this worked for a day or 2, but requires recharging battery in the evening. I am thinking I need to upgrade the original stock Alternator with a biiger /better one.

1st Question has anyone seen or heard of similar problems with voltage supply?

2nd Can you recommend a specific Amperage Alternator and maybe give some tips for install

I am only running 2 400Watt amps, to 1 12" Sub and 2 Tower Speakers, and 4 In boat speakers.

many Thanks,

SpiceWood X-9

How many batteries and what condition are they or it in?? What is the alt, I would guess a 70 amp. Stock alt should be fine with that stereo setup so I would look at the battery condition first.
