Original ZFF Threads Stripped (2000 X5)

Could someone help me understand if the connecting pieces of an original (gen1) zero flex flyer tower is solid aluminum or tube? I dismantled the tower for storage, stripped out the allen screw, and am now trying to figure out if I am going to drill and sleeve or if I am going to use the one hole that is still threaded and use a pin.

I completely messed up on thread, and wondering if the tower connector has enough robustness(?) to hold a sleeve. I can take pics if necessary.

Or if anyone has other options please let me know. Its one of those things where my curiosity is killing this cat... Thanks.

I was able to separate the bolts from the tower by drilling them out. I am hoping that I can sleeve the small part that attaches to the front of the boat with a 9/16 sleeve with an inner thread of 3/16 (stock). Luckily this is on the under side of the tower. I definitely shouldn't have taken the tower apart, but now that the OCD has passed I need to make it right. I didn't want to bolt straight through.
