deep water

We have a slalom course that we have to pick up off the bottom to use. Normally we accomplish this with a paint roller handle attached to a 16' pole. never an easy task, however this year the waters up 4+ feet and it's impossible. Does anyone here know of a better way.

Grappling hook anchor is what we used to use. 25-35’ water. Had to drag to “hook” the mainline, then pull it up. Good times...

As a heads up PSA, anyone who happens to be diving in the water pulling/setting courses and buoys should carry a knife/scabbard.

Sadly, a couple seasons ago locally, a highly experienced waterman and watersports athlete drowned getting tangled in a line while resetting course buoys.

If you are going to dive to the bottom, never dive alone and always have a spotter. The knife is also a good idea. Remember, cut towards your buddy, not your body.

That being said, 20 feet isn’t very hard to dive down if you know how to equaliz your ear pressure. I would dive that depth if there isn’t any substantial current and visibility is ok.

Why not run a retrieval bouy or retrieval line to shallower water?

Scuba gear for the win. We did our lake course this year as we had to replace a few lines and jugs under the water.

Scuba gear/tank makes it an easy task

Obviously can't scuba EVERY time you pull up the course.
