fstaslp, do you guys slalom, board, tube? If you're there this weekend I'm sure you'll see the 209 cruising around. Won't be around Saturday during the day, but will be on the water Thurs, Fri, & Sun.

bbymgr, nothing beats a hearty breakfast at the Liberty Bell after a night of partying on the houseboat!

aswinter05,
So how's the water Brookville Lake, with the drought conditions? I've never been there. We were thinking about heading down this weekend too. Probably Saturday... since you won't be there. JK

P.S. Nice 209!

I've noticed a slight drop in the water level at our marina. The lake has hardly been affected by the conditions. Being a reservoir, they have a little more control over the water levels and how much water flows out. Also, the lake is very consistant at an average depth of 25-30 feet with very few shallow areas.

We were there this past weekend and it rained quite a bit on Thursday and Friday. Love that lake.

I just read this weekend about toxic algae levels in several Indiana lakes, including Brookville. Two dogs died up here around Fort Wayne after swimming in one of the lakes listed.

Yeah, we've heard all about it. They have some signs up. We tend to not drink the lake water anyways, lol.

Geist Reservoir has had Blue Green Algae several times. It's basically harmless to humans unless you drink a glass of it. Obviously not dogs though. Poor puppies

I've had some friends at Geist over the years say they've gotten itchy skin after being in the water all day.

If anyone boats in the state, here is some good information from Indiana's website. It shows recent test results, etc.

http://www.in.gov/idem/algae/index.htm

Looks like the concentration levels in the lake that killed those dogs are REALLY high.

Thank you for posting that link to the site. Greatly appreciate it. I didn't know it existed on the IN.gov site, but I will save it for future use.

We have a trip planned to Dale Hollow so I'm sure we'll get spoiled on just how clean that water is.

Thanks again!
