Troubleshoot ballast
I have a 220 CSX with one center and two stern tanks, just switches and no gauges. I was shown they were working on my sea trial and now I am not sure if they are working and have been troubleshooting other priorities and out of town for months but want to tackle ballast now.
When I first bought the boat all three switches would light up, now only the left stays lit and the center blinks. Nothing from the right. And no water exits any ports when you empty So my questions are, where do I start troubleshooting, how can I tell if they are filling without gauges, can I add gauges or would I have to add sensors in the tank too, can you test them on the trailer in any way? Thanks. PS. Awesome water in Oahu yesterday. The smoothest I have seen here in two years !!!

Ballast controllers/timers from that year are notoriously unreliable. A few things to check:
Power cables to the ballast controller box. They are connected with screws and can loosen. Make sure they are tight. Check impellers. If the impellers are bad, then the timers may be faulting because they think there is a blockage in the system. Check pumps. You can connect them to the battery and see if they run. They may have been mounted with the pump heads on top which can leak water into the pumps and ruin them. If all that looks good then it may just be the timers are causing grief. Those can be fixed by reprogramming. info in this thread: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=50038 If you want to reprogram the timers just PM me.

Thanks Tr6coug, I’ll start with those steps this week. I also plan on picking up a volume control from your website. Jordan.
