BMX, anyone?

As a product of the 70’s and 80’s growing up BMX took both coasts by storm. It was “rad”.

We never had the money for one of those really nice mongoose, redline, or haro’s that the kid down the street had. Instead I would scab parts and pieces from friends bikes in order to ride my mongrel. No regrets at all.

However, in my adult age I find myself doing a little better and able to make purchases that I once couldn’t.

So, my BMX addiction has taken off. I have a couple of completes now and just ordered a new frame and fork set up for my winter project.

Bikes =

WTP, seed 16” (son)
2017 SE PK Ripper, Mike Buff limited edition (#277 of 500)
2019 SE STR 26” quadangle (wife)
On order 2019 Hutch xl24 (all mine)

There will be no expense spared on my Hutch build this winter. I can’t wait.

Some of the OG 80ís vintages are worth a tower speaker upgrade.

I'll never forget the blue Haro Sport from the mid 80s. Best Christmas ever. Wish I still had it.

I got out of BMX about 4 years ago because I was having wrist problems and some tendinitis in my elbow from digging and maintaining the backyard track I had. It was just to much physical labor after working all day.

That was when I got into slalom skiing with a friend of mine and bought a boat again.Skiing is fun and challenging but doesn't give me the excitement of flying through the air on a bike so I bought a DH bike last winter I have been riding a lot of park this year. I found out that Highland bike park in NH has a bmx section called "sherwood forest" I plan on taking my BMX with me next time I head up. It will be fun to float some BMX trails after smashing DH runs all day haha!

Yes it is!

I stopped there in July on my way up to Burke. I was by myself so I didn't really push my riding for fear of getting dinged up. I can't wait to get back up there. Unfortunately it is about a 7 hour drive for me.

I put together a Dyno Pro Compe in 1992 when I was 15.

My brother had the bike that all my friends wanted. It was a chrome 1989 Haro Master. Looked like this:
