Just to update guys on this issue. My original plugs lasted about 9 years. My new welded in plugs lasted 2. Seems like i'll be pulling the manifolds, along with other things, this winter and having them re-done. Upon re-installation I will be adding a drain valve to my manifolds to hopefully get more time out of the fix.

Is there a specific aluminum grade that the plugs need to be or just any aluminum? I'll be having new plugs welded in this winter. Are you guys finding the material online?
