XT22 Order Submitted

Just sold my NXT22 and started an order for the XT22 with my dealer. Lots of decisions to make as there are so many options and configurations. Luckily I have some time to decide on things. We’re shooting for a late February to early March delivery so I should have until mid-late January to make any changes to the order. My question is this. Trying to stay under budget I have 2 options. I can get the ZFT2 tower and load up on all the smaller options like carpet upgrades, docking lights, etc... Or I can go with the ZFT4 tower and skip out on all of those. I was surprised to find that while building almost 80% of people build it with the ZFT4. Should be a fun process and hopefully I can make it to the factory and tour while my boat is being built.

If you go ZFt2 I think it will really hurt the boat when you go to sell it in the future.

Definitely don't skip on the ZFT4. You'll regret it while owning it, and even more if you put it up for sale and a number of buyers rule it out.

I've always left the "fluff" or soft items that can be upgraded at a later date off my builds. You can add Zero Off, Sound Systems and even showers or heaters fairly easy after the fact. The tower is something you won't be able to upgrade later and will be a make or break item for a lot a people in the secondary market. Same with the engine options. If there's some reason you think you need more power than the standard power now is certainly the time to do it.

I'd also do the heated seats now if you're thinking you'll want them. While they can certainly be added later, now you're dealing with pulling seat covers off and that's something I personally would not like to deal with.

Upgrade the tower. I’ve sold a few boats, the fluff stuff doesn’t help resale much. Tower will for sure

are you going with the dual touch screens? I'm in the process of ordering an xt22, and keep going back and forth on the screens.

I am not. It is a stretch for me to get into the 22. I was going to go with a 17’ X10 or 18’ XT21 at first but really wanted the space of the 22 since I’m coming from an NXT22. Didn’t want to go smaller. When I made the jump up to the xt22 I knew I could swing the dual screens.

I would get the ZFT4 for sure and get dual screens if you can swing it at all. I think that's the only way to independently control the zones with the new Klipsch sound system.
