2001 mastercraft x10

Hello! I have a 2001 mastercraft x10. This boat is awesome. Lately I have been wake surfing with full ballast (rear and middle full) but for whatever reason no one (including me) can surf the sweet spot without holding the rope. It's a great wake and we pull at 11 MPH but once anyone drops the rope (at slack point) speed dies and we fall out of wake. Any suggestions about what's causing this? Do we need more weight? More speed? I watch videos of people surfing the sweet spot without any effort so naturally it's frustrating because I can carve it hard, spin 360's ect. Just loose it in the sweet spot

Thanks for any advice

2001 mastercraft x10

We are surfing same boat with 750's in rear, ski locker sac and 500 lbs in bow and using suck gate. 10.7 mph. best summer by far for surfing. With suck gate its simply a different wave; taller, longer and more push. Same setup should work well for you

How deep is the water? I find that anything less than 11 feet causes the wake to lose the push/height.

That is an awesome wake. I have a 2005 X10. I just got an aluminum suckgate. Could you post some pictures of your suckgate and where you are mounting it? Thank you.

I would also appreciate to see some photos of what suction handle and where you are placing it. The curved hull is a bit tricky!

Here is where i put my homemade one on the same hull. I have found that the safety rope needs to go the the cleat or tower in front of it, otherwise it slides off the back.

The pic is a guy who has only wakeboarded once. He was able to let go of the rope after a few tries.

I will second the need for water over 10' in depth.

That looks great. I am mounting in the same spot. How much weight are you running?
