HO Syndicate V-Type Grenade Green/Black vs. A3 or S2

So I'm looking on HO's website and no longer see the A3 or S2....now a Syndicate V-Type Grenade Green or Syndicate V-Type Off Black.

Have they now dropped the A3 and S2 for a single type ski? How would this compare? I was considering the either of the two older skis but now wondering how this new one might perform. Anyone have experience yet?

I spoke with the HO rep at the Seattle boat show and he said the new V-Type ski is awesome.
The basically took the front 2/3 of the slightly wider S2 and combined it with the narrow rear 1/3 of the A3. The wider front is supposed to give it the superior speed and stability that the S2 had combined with the tight turning capability that the A3 had. They then added a piece to the front for vibration dampening, it's a rubber and stainless plate screwed to the top face of the ski. He says this ski is the best of both and a ski that performs very well at all speeds.
I haven't tried it yet but when it warms up here I will.

Must be hard having it and waiting for summer! I assume the color thing is just that, two different colors. Grenade green sounds cool.

Have you tried the boots on yet? I have some radar stradas so not buying boots would be a nice savings....

2 different colors yes.. the boots are interesting.. feel like stiff high top gym shoes... I am used to my HO Animals.. we'll see how these feel - I'll won't ever buy a new boat so I get to spend on skis

Mike, I'll be getting the ski now so I'm pretty excited!

I listed my old ski (Goode 9700) on Ski-it-Again and after a week, I sold it. But I'm keeping my Radar Strada boots. Do you know if the Strada's will fit the new HO bolt hole configuration?

I suppose I could get the HO boots but that's just more money when I already have decent boots.

Is yours Black or Grenade Green?

Mine is black... Radar ski holes should be the same as the HO's - the Vtype as 2 sets of holes for boots... do your strada boots have a plate to attach to ski?

Yea, mine have the plate for each boot so it sounds like it's OK. Thanks!

If I get time, I might swing by Tommy's to see the difference in the two ski colors in person. Have a volleyball match this weekend in Denver....

Jeff-
My understanding is to mount anything other than the new HO boots to a new HO ski you use an adapter plate. If you go by Tommy's see if salesmen Jarrett Clark is there. Swung into the shop on the way through denver and he spent quite a bit of time with me and big willy style. Will bought a 2014 ski from him and he shipped it to Arkansas, slight hickup with it being a different size than originally thought and Jarrett replaced it with a 2015 at the 2014 closeout price. Highly recommend

In spite of the snow storm, we headed to Tommy's after volleyball. They were able to look up my Strada boots to see if they would fit and she was pretty sure they would be good. I looked at the two and must say I like the black better. The green almost looked a bit painted. Don't know....just preferred the black!

Here are a few shots:
