Additional Ballast Ideas for X26

Anyone have any ideas for additional ballast in an X26. We get a pretty good wave with stock ballast and 5 -6 people in the boat, but not great if it's just a couple of us.

I'm looking into lead but I trailer most of the time and would rather not tow the extra weight around, if I can avoid it.

That setup works well! Wave was insane. Sorry I don’t have any ideas on how to make that practical, but the weight in that spot worked well

That's a great wave! We were close to that with a full crew. I'm not wild about sacs laying all over the boat, though.

Frustrating that MC didn't put a proportional amount of stock ballast in the X26 vs the other boats. The X24 has 1500# more than the X26!

I have a 18 X-26. I have 200 lbs under each bag in rear lockers. Also have 200 on each side in the coffin storage lockers. When I only have a few people in the boat I have a Ronix 8.3 telescope floor bag (800lb) that I put right on top of the motor box. With the tsunami pump, you can fill it in 4-5 minutes. It has a zipper on top and you can empty it in less than a minute. Just be care full taking off as you can throw it off the back. Not a big deal as it will float. Just a hassle to empty and then refill. Also be a little careful stopping real quick as the wave is so big it can swamp the boat. The X26 is a big boat and needs a lot of extra weight.

Thank you for the reply. What are you using for the 800# in the lockers? Do you have pics of the resulting wave?

“Your scientists were so focused on if they could they forgot to ask whether or not they should”

Making a joke about the X26 not needing more ballast
