MDC delete
Jeff d :
Awesome write up. I was hoping I could just copy it step by step, since I have very limited electrical knowledge, but my "MDC harness" looks different than yours. My "gauge harness" looks the same. I guess I have the MMDC instead of the MDC. Do you or anybody else on the forum, know if I can do the same analog swap with the MMDC. (I m assuming the MDC and MMDC are different animals. |

G.Luke: I'm almost complete with this conversion as well (2000 PS 205). I have a five-wire plug like the top one in your picture. I found that original author's instructions worked fine for me, except there was no mention of the brown wire and the brown wire with the white stripe. After some investigation, it appears that those brown wires go to micro switches at the bottom of my dash which allowed me to calibrate my clock and make an adjustment to the speedometer. I've since removed the clock altogether and am using a different speedometer. In short, I capped those two brown wires with heat shrink and tucked them away. I've run my boat in the driveway on the hose and everything seems to work, except my fuel sending unit. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks. I read through the whole thread again and I think Ive got it.
There appears to be a temp sender on the the bottom port side of my block with a single blue wire. Im going to just run that directly to the gauge. I will run the boat and see how that works. I dont have pp. I'm hoping that the wiring is there for the tach. There are several unconnected (capped) wires under the dash that I assume are for options like pp that my boat didnt come with. I'll try to figure that out |

I have an 03 X-30 and did this swap thanks to a awesome write up. Only issues I had were later covered in this thread. I went with the Faria Kronos gauges and thought I'd attach a photo of the end result. Crazy happy with how it all turned out.

I’ve not been active on the forum much lately. It sounds like you’re describing the knock sensor. It doesn’t feed back to the MDC or a gauge.

Well I pulled my OEM gauges today. Got Faria's on the way. Just wanted to bump this thread. I'll let y'all know how it goes. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get back to where my boat stays. BTW, my '01 205v has 9 gauges in the dash so I'm going to order matching depth gauge and something to go where the clock is. Notice my speedo. It stayed like that all last year.

interested to know how this goes. I'd jump into this so fast but still haven't found a good gauge to replace the air and water temp gauges that currently are fed from the digital display from the MDC. If anyone has any good advice on that - greatly appreciated.

Did anyone find a good replacement for Air and water temp and engine hours and depth?
