What was the earliest surfable Mastercraft made?

With my kids getting a little older I'm looking at moving from a runabout to a boat more specifically used for water sports. Can anyone point me in the direction of the 1st surfable boat made by mastercraft?

Price range?

Maybe the Prostar 205V.....depending on what you're really after.

I think that gets to be a big "depends" added to any response.

It depends if you want to add your own ballast or wake shaper.

We had an '06 X30 and it we surfed behind it - factory, no add-ons. The '06 was the the first year of a significant re-design of the X30.

I had a 1997 200vrs we all learned to surf behind and it did fairly well. I had 350lb sacs in each locker and a homemade wake shaper.

I was surfing 9 years ago behind my 95 200VRS. We had no clue what we were doing back then but were able to ride consistently without the rope on a IS Blue Lake. Back then we were only running a single 450 bag in the rear locker. If I were trying it again today with that boat I'd buy a wake shaper, have a bag in the walkway and fill both rear lockers.

It was a great boat for our family and with the integrated platform might be a decent surf boat with the right equipment.

Maristars will surf better than 205Vs. The cruise oriented hulls generally surf better than wakeboard oriented hulls.

My 1999 Prostar 205 DD surfs better than my neighbor's V-Drive. The hull is great for surfing/wakeboarding/slalom. We did it all very effectively with the boat. Only replaced the boat so we could get away from extra fat sacs for weight. It is still for sale here. Low hours, very clean. It would be a great first all-around boat for you.

1988 Prostar 190. Previous owner installed a tower, I built a suck gate and we threw 1000lbs in the boat. Built a snorkel for the fuel tank vent (learned that the hard way) and NO INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS...surfing without rope no problem.
