Skiboatcovers dot com question

I was hoping to hear your experience to gage against mine.

I had a few questions concerning which cover would be best for my application. I made a few calls and sent 2 emails and finally recieved a call after 2 weeks. I was told which cover and that they were running 3 to 4 weeks to delivery.

I made the measurements but wasnt sure if the dimensions requested from the rub rail to the front surface of the tower leg was along the hull or a 90 deg projection out from the tower leg so I gave both and a detailed description. Think the leg of a 90 deg triangle or hypotenuse.

Cover came out to be essentially $1,000. I placed the order and received an automatic confirmation. Honestly I thought and hoped they would follow up with a specific conformation.

Its been nearly 4 weeks so I left a VM 3 days ago asking if they had any questuons aboit my measurements and if they were on schedule. Nothing...chirp..chirp...chirp. Should I be worried or is this SOP for them? If yes, it must be nice to have a business were the customer spends a grand and you do not speak to them or reply to a question.

I just received my cover from them about a week and a half ago. It took about 4 weeks. There was no follow from them. I called them to verify the order and time frame. They told me they were running behind. Phone calls seem to work the best. I got sunbrella and it fits perfect. I'm very pleased.

Did you get a shipping notice or did it just show up?

Had one for our previous boat. Phone was the easiest method for me as well, and the cover was fantastic.

I called and placed my order over the phone. X30 with water line cover, the good thread and sunbrella was1300 bones and could not be happier with it.

I think it's a very different time we're in right now with a stable economy and strong boat sales. Everybody is busy and more boats are on the lake. When I ordered mine, circa 2012 plus or minus a year. I called reached him immediately, from order to receipt it took about a week and half. He met me in person to deliver it so I didn't have to pay shipping. I think it's supply and demand. I pretty sure the local marina uses them for there covers too with their name on it. My buddy's X10 cover is exactly like my skiboatcovers.... but it was ordered from the marina when is new boat was delivered.

Sounds like customer service is suffering with robust sales.

My experience was about the same. Very happy with the product. But had virtually no follow-up/interaction with them.

Keep in mind, this is a very busy time. Doubt they have a real down time, but summer has to be peak.

For those that have this cover, how does the draw string work? Is it a rope or a strap with clips, ratchet strap etc?
