At 3 my son was tubing. At 4 he was "skiing" on trainers.

I think it depends on the kid, I had my son up last year on a ski sled at 3 behind our little aluminum boat but we were barely in gear. This year, at 4, he was up this weekend on the ski sled behind the MC at 15 mph and asking to go faster!
Now, that said he hasn't experienced a fall yet which could really freak him out. So, next weekend we are going to practice falling off the sled at the dock and then out in the middle of the lake and what will happen. Once the water gets a bit warmer we plan to try the trainer skis. |

Livi was 3 when on trainers.
JD is 3 now and this weekend he will be on trainers for first time. Both should be off short line by end of the weekend.

at 3, try a ski skimmer across the grass... then along shore... then behind boat with you holding the rope and talking the kid through it

We got our 3 year old grandson out on an EZ trainer a couple fo weeks ago. The pictures are from his first outing. we worked with him close to the shoreline and then launched off of the swim platform easing the rope out and picking up speed. He had a good time and wanted more; he calls it his "little boat". Now we are working with him in the pool trying to teach him what to do when he falls off.

My little one went strait behind the boat on trainers. Someone had to be in the water with him to hold his skis strait until the boat went off.
