At CH look at Edgar Evins State Park or maybe Ragland Bottoms both are nice and well kept.

CHL I am camping at Ragland for July 4th. On DHL Obey River is amazing if you can get a site. You have to book that many months in advance. I grew up camping there many times a year. DHL is my favorite.

Tent camping or trailer/motor home camping? How big of a trailer/motor home?

I've been all over CHL over the years maybe before you were born...

Some places accommodate better than others but CHL is a winner regardless.

My fav after staying in about every ground on that lake is the campground toward Hurricane Dock. Get on down the hill after the turnoff from 56 and bear right to Little Pucketts. Nice place, good ramps, baths to accommodate most all camp sites, hookups, etc....

Central location to several nice creeks to ski in and in the middle of two courses if that floats your boat. Restaurant over at Hurricane Dock, fuel, etc... easy access from I-40.....

Burgess Falls, Fancher's Falls, Mine Lick Creek, Racoon Hollow, Holmes Creek, Little Hurricane Creek, etc...

$0.02

Hidden Harbor has sites with hook-ups and several right on the water.
