#1 700/5
woofer zone (RCA split)
4 main cabin each on their own chnl RCA does not require splitting

#2 700/5
woofer zone (RCA split)
Front L&R bow pair zone RCA not split
Rear L&R tower pair zone RCA not split

10 amp chnls and 10 speakers. Only RCA zone to split is the woofer. System plays in stereo.

If speakers dont play music, change the input switch. if the speaker play but are controlled by the wrong zone, change the in-put switch.

How do you figure that you don't need to split the RCA for the 4 speakers on the same zone? Per the M700/5 manual, if in 2 channel mode, channels 3+4 & the sub channel get their signal from 1+2. If in 4 channel mode, you supply signal to channels 1-4 & the sub channel is a sum of channels 1-4. If in 6 channel mode, the sub can be controlled independently and is not a sum of any channels.

Did I overlook something in the manual? Also when I say split RCAs, I'm saying the zone for the 4 speakers will need Y-adapters and plugged into zones 1-4.

With a 4 chnl and 4 speakers that will all be under the same zone, only a single pair of RCA (1 left 1 right) to drive all 4 amp chnls.

I may be mistaken of the 700/5, but I was under the thinking that 1-4 can be driven by a single pair when in 2 chnl mode and the woofer can be driven independent with its own RCA.

Worst case, you are splitting right at the amp's input, rather then having to split the RCA further upstream because the speakers are on separate amps.

Im pretty sure hes going to split the signal. I looked at the JL manual again, and to use the subwoofer channel with zone control, the amp will have to operate in 6-channel mode. Otherwise the amp combines channels to supply the subwoofer signal.

Still the best way to configure it. Only zone split between the 2 amps, is the woofer. Only splitting the cabin zone right at the amp in order to occupy the 4 inputs on one amp, is nothing.
