Flew one once, nice aircraft, gotta be careful with the turbo. Had a Cherokee 180, and Cessna 188. Currently have a Mooney M20E

Why do you have to be careful with the turbo?

You can overboost at higher altitude takeoffs.

I can over-boost at 2200ft, shock cooling is the other big thing with the TIO-540. I always descend with some power to keep temps consistent. Manifold pressure will peak at about 40", red line is 36"!! There are conflicting statements that with a 3 blade 40" is allowed but I prefer to keep it within the gauges. Its been a great airplane, we upgraded from a Cessna 177B Cardinal. Just upgraded panel as well with 530W, 430, PMA-8000 audio panel and appareo ESi ADS-B!

Didn't know you could also overboost at lower, all my flying was high alt airports. Cardinals are really nice looking airplanes. Can't remember what it was but there was some caution about the T-tail also.

Lots of people don't like how the T-tail reacts on take-off/landing. Its like a small jet in the sense that the wings fly before the elevator becomes active. Rotate speed is 70kts but stall speed is 62kts. There is no prop wash going across because of its placement. On landing if you try and flare to much the tail will stall resulting in nose wheel slamming down. If you just hold your approach angle and right before ground slightly pull back the mains set down then the nose sets down. Its smoother in flight not having elevator being in prop wash and in my opinion looks cool.. In reality every airplane is different and you gotta fly each one.
