X25 w/5.7 at elevation?

I'm thinking of going from my X45 w/ 8.1 to a X25, but most of the reasonably priced 25s have the ILMOR 5.7L. Both of my local lakes are around 6,000 ft and I'm wondering if the little motor can hack it? I'll be mostly wakeboarding with the stock ballast and 5-10 people in the boat.

For what it's worth, I have a 2018 XT20 with the 5.7 with the high altitude prop. At Lake Powell (3,700 feet) I do just fine, but at my local lake 6,400 it struggles with more than 4 or 5 people in it. My XT20 is smaller and I'm sure lighter and I wish every time I use it that it had a bigger motor.

With just the hard tanks full and the right prop it will get the job done, add bags and you will struggle. Center tab can be used to help get things moving. I would still hold out for a 6.0 if I was in your position.

I'd wait for the 6.0 as well. We regularly are at 6500 and the 6.0 handles it well.

Copy that fellas. I'll keep hunting. My Epic 23V and X45 have booth been 8.1L so I've gotten used to barely getting to "3 Mississippi" before starting my run.

Ehh, not the right place to save a few grand if you’re always at altitude.
