It should be near the ECU. If you are looking at the engine from the transmission side, it should be located on the right lower side of the engine harness. It will look like the one on the right in the photo. It may not have 10 wires.

The one on the left is a MEFI 5/6 CAN buss connector. You will not have this.

Here's a simple photo of another way to read the codes.

Hey Guys,

i added the LED and the Paperip as told in the Instruction.

But when i turned Ignition to ON, the LED just blinked two Times fast. Than no reaktion at all.

What could that be? I checked the Ports and all was connected correctly..

Are you following the instructions correctly?

Quote:
How to hook it up:

1) Ignition key “OFF”

2) Remove the cap from the Data Link Connector (DLC)

3) Slide the LED into the female terminals of position E and F on the DLC, making sure that the positive side goes into terminal F and the negative side into terminal E. No damage will occur if you get it backwards, it just won't work.

4) Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position. The LED should come on steady.

5) Insert the half paperclip into terminals A and B – This puts the engine in “Service Mode” and codes will begin to flash on the LED. On 1996 and earlier engines you may hear the fuel pump come on. If not you should be able to hear the Idle Air Control (IAC) motor move. Use care in this step, do not insert in the wrong terminals or ECM damage could result! Look closely, the terminals are clearly marked.

6) Read codes by observing LED flashs. If the self diagnostic system is working it will flash code 12 – one flash, pause, two flashes, long pause – it will repeat three times. If other codes are present they will flash in order of lowest to highest. Continue to read codes until the code 12 sequence is repeated.
IE, key off, LED in, key on then paper clip in. Be very careful about where the paper clip is plugged into.

As the instruction says, you should get code 12 three times and then if any codes are stored it will start blinking them.

Read the parts of this manual that outline what the light means.

Check out the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR part and then the How to read codes part.

After you wrote this, i tried it several Times again but with the same two results:

1. LED is blinking two times, than no Signal.

2. LED is glowing just a little bit, but no blinking.

I realy don't know if, or what i'm doing wrong..

When Ignition is "on" somewhere from the Engine comes a Continuous noise like "glug.. glug...".

All switches off (Bilgepump, Blower, etc).

Any Idea what to check next? The MCX a conversion, stock was a Crusader SS..

I assume the complete engine wiring harness was changed over with the MCX harness to include the ECU for the MCX as well?

I believe the MCX comes all new including Wiring Harness.

But i'm not that fit one with that electric stuff to check for it

Maybe the best would be to give it to another Dealer?
