Is there foam under the floor, does it get saturated?

I know we don't have wood stringers and floors to worry about but I was wondering if there is foam flotation under the floor too. I put floors and stringers in an old Checkmate years ago and removed about 400# of wet foam. Where is the flotation in our boats? I am redoing a 1996 Prostar that had been sitting for a while.

There is no foam under the floor afaik in your year. That stopped sometime in the early 80's I believe. The flotation is from displacing more water than it weighs.

I've owned an '83 and an '89. The '83 has foam in the floor and under the gunnels. I think the '89 had it under the floor only. I'm guessing MC put it under the floor through '90. Not sure what happened with the model change in '91.(maybe it went away altogether) Anyone with a '91-'94 know the answer?

I just was looking at my 1995 brochure - and in 1995 - the full line got foam flotation under floor.
