So I pulled away from the trailer with the breakaway brake cable attached...now what?

Got in a rush disconnecting the trailer and forgot the breakaway safety cable and now broke the cable, now what do I have to do to replace it? Thanks a lot!

Which part broke? Got a picture to post so we can analyze it properly?

I don't have a pic, but it was the actual safety breakaway cable that broke. It did what it was supposed to do, just wondering what I have to do to reset the brakes and replace the cable. The trailer is an '08.

<---- did it too.

It was my first call to Lex at Rambo marine and the guy was beyond helpful. Hell he didn't even laugh at me!

Doing this is as common as launching without the plug. It's just a matter of time.

The worst part is you can't intentionally do it just to get it over with...............karma turns against you with a vengeance if you try to mess with her.

call it the right of passage - didn't do it yet - but did launch without plug

Oh, the check list when hooking up the trailer and unhooking now is.

Hooking up
hitch on ball
lock through hitch
safety chains
trailer light hookup
safety cable

Unhooking
safety cable
trailer lights
safety chains
hitch lock
hitch to ball

Before my right of passage so to speak, I'd unhook different each time.

chains, lock, safety cable, lights
lock, safety cable, lights, beer, chains
beer, beer, chains, beer, lights, dinner, beer, lock, OOPS!
