I Need an Attitude Adjustment!

Or do I?

I'm looking at 2006 X30's, and I've found one that I like. Unfortunately it doesn't have the attitude adjustment plate.
For those of you with this style X30 with the plate, what are the primary benefits, and do you think it would be necessary for me to add it?
I am considering adding the Go Surf Assist system. Would I still want the center tab? Is it primarily for smoothing the wake for skiing? How beneficial is it for keeping the bow down under normal operating conditions?

I am coming from a 2001 Maristar / X10 that we used for surfing, beginner wakeboarding, and casual slalom skiing. Looking to get better at all 3 sports, with surfing being the family favorite at this point.

Thanks!

Helps with launch when using a lot of ballast, also smooths out the wake for slalom. Can be added just like surf tabs if you feel the boat needs it.

It also cleans up the face of the surf wake.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like it would be nice to have, but probably not a deal breaker. I could always add it later, just need to consider that relative to price of the boat.

If/when you do this thread should help you if you decide to install it as close to factory as possible

Buying all parts through MC dealer would probably be around $1500-$2000 depending on how close to the factory install you want to have. Here is agood threads that show some other options that will save money by not using all the MC parts:

To add, I would look for the wiring, gauge, and box on greatlakesskipper.com as soon as possible if you are thinking about doing this.

Factory panel

Factory switch and harness.

Factory trim tab gauge.

You maybe able to source the control box from here.

having an attitude plate on my 30 (different hull) is great. as mentioned above, helps negate bow rise, helps launch with heavy load and helps clean/shape wakes. having said that, i would be hard pressed to buy another hull without a plate unless the cost of the plate to factory specs was in the price of the boat.

It definitely adds to the performance and versatility of the boat, but I wouldn't dismiss a good clean boat without it. It's an easy addition to the boat that is very straight forward.

I'm in the process of doing this right now. Great lakes skipper is a good resource for out of production parts. Another place to buy wiring harness, actuator & control box is through Master Repair masterrepairinc.com Call and talk to Rose (772) 222-777. They can't get the trim tab plate, but can save you some money on the control box & actuator. Once I get all my parts together and get mine installed I'll put together a thread, but the one I posted above gives the important part numbers.
