2018 F150 diesel

Looks like Ford is stepping into the half ton diesel world.

The battle for the highest fuel economy in a pickup truck continues. First the ecoboost, then Dodge's 3.0 diesel, now this. and 12k towing! Sign me up

Looks cool. Here is another write up with more detail

http://autoweek.com/article/detroit-...ngine-facelift

"The 3.0-liter V6 diesel is a joint project between Ford and PSA Peugeot CitroŽn and is also found in Land Rover Td6s. Ford wouldnít give specific power numbers but the engine cranks out a stout 440 lb-ft in the Rovers."

I've got the diesel in our Range Rover Sport. The power and efficiency is truly impressive.

People forget that the whole western world uses diesel with the exception of the US

These engines are great, even in my Ford Ranger I've got the 3.2 straight 6, 200hp & 350lb-ft, it's great, 2200lb capacity in the loadbay and additional 8k tow capacity. And thats from essentially a baby f150 oil burner. (note, the max I've towed has been approx 4k on the back and a full load bay, although yes you know you've got something on the back it certainly wasn't anywhere near it's limit by feel)

IMO, the 2018 F150 may be the best looking one yet. I really like what they did with the grill!

Now this has my attention, I just hope push-n-go has done a better design job than VM/GM/FIAT.
