Red face 2015 Tower Racks Failing?

I'm looking for others input on this. We have a 2015 X30. We have the standard new Tower with the wakeboard/surf racks. We always load our boards into the appropriate slots. However, for the second time now the Racks have FAILED. Both times it has been on our return home trip. We've been going about 29mph, with a 10-12 knot headwind at 4pm. Last summer we had my daughter's board fly out and just missed her sitting in the back seat. All locks were in their max position as tight as they can be. Just last wweek on Memorial day we had it happen again.

Has anyone else experienced this? We are very nervous now to have anyone sit in the back seat while at high speeds for the return trip. We are looking into some sort of safety strop, but was hoping not to have to do this.

We use the surf sleeves and rarely use the tower rack. That said, we haven't had any issues of boards coming loose in our limited experience.

Did they come out of the larger surf rack or smaller wakeboard rack? Was it a skim board or surf style board?
