Tower inserts

I am in need of a couple inserts for my tower bimini top. One of them is stripped out. I have tried to wrap teflon tape around the screw to get it to grab but it doesn't work. I am not even sure if these are available or not or if anyone else has another solution.

Looks like there is enough meat there to drill it out and retap it? If not you could always bring it to a local welding shop and explain what you need. It's just metal and can easily be filled in, drilled and tapped.

No, but that's a good idea. I was talking about pipe tape.

You can try that. Might get another season out of it. Honestly I'd just drill it and retap to the next size up.

We'll the problem with that is that the size screws I need for that is too large for the hole in the bracket. It will not allow the latch to open. I will not be taking the screws in and out so the helicopter coils should do the trick.
